About the Position
The Vice President, Technology (VPT) serves as a member of the NILC Senior Leadership Team and advances the NILC mission by acting as a subject matter expert and strategic leader in technology operations including technology, data, and information security. Working closely with the Executive Vice President, Operations, other members of SLT, and interim leadership, the VPT plays a key role in building strong strategic and operational systems related to technology to build, sustain, and advance the organization in accordance with the strategic framework and NILC values. The VPT leads day-to-day technology operations including technology enablement, defining technology architecture and infrastructure, ensuring compliance, and managing vendor relationships. The VPT will act both as a strategic leader and hands-on executor in areas ranging from systems administration to employee IT to procurement. Additionally, the VPT collaborates with leaders across the organization to enhance and better integrate the right technology consistently across the organization.
The VPT will be a hand-on leader with a depth of technology, operational effectiveness, and business knowledge while also exhibiting a strong commitment to NILC’s mission concentrates on the applied principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and belonging.
This role is not a member of the Bargaining Unit.
The Vice President, Technology will be responsible for providing leadership and driving success in the following key areas:
Location & Travel:
All staff are currently working remotely, and all travel is limited due to the COVID-19 PANDEMIC. Post pandemic, up to 10-20% of overnight interstate travel may be required; travel is typically quarterly to the NILC Washington, DC office or another location within the US for 3-5 nights.
NILC’s compensation philosophy is to pay competitively in the nonprofit sector and ensure equity across the organization. Compensation for the role will depend on several factors including qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.
